For this project, Delmo Group undertook the restoration and transformation of the former heritage classified Colgate Palmolive factory in East Balmain. As an old waterfront industrial site, there was a legacy of heavy metal contaminates from earlier maritime activities. Delmo Group’s challenge was to decontaminate the site while retaining the existing building. After extensive tunneling and excavation, the building—set on approximately 3 acres of waterfront land—was converted into 111 prestige apartments and 10 townhouses with associated car parking and public open space.
