Cruz Malta is a large, heritage listed building centrally located in the city of Buenos Aires and this project entailed the re-adaptive use of the space. The architectural challenge was to fit a mezzanine level within the existing floor to ceiling height parameters whilst allowing sufficient natural light and ventilation. The solution was to design two large atriums in the centre of the building, while maintaining the character and integrity of the structure. This result is a vibrant office space covering 25,000sqm with accompanying car parking. The finished building accommodates approximately 1500 staff and has been leased to HSBC for a period of 10 years.
